We implement a four-step process that allows us to work directly with you to design and plan your project. We are firm believers that a detailed design and plan have a direct impact on your project, so before the hammers start swinging, we work with you throughout this initial stage to develop thorough designs, scopes of work, specifications and schedules. We have an excellent team of designers and suppliers to help you make the best decisions for your project.

Ultimately, our goal is to produce the detailed information we need to provide accurate, realistic pricing for your project, not just an estimate based on square footage pricing. The designing and planning phase allows you to work with our team before you commit to the construction process, ensuring that our relationship is based on trust.

We use the following steps in our designing and planning process:

Initial Project Assessment

First, we review your lot/land or outdoor space to assess any concerns and potential challenges, as well as service requirements like power, gas, or septic. Next, we prepare and present a proposal that breaks down our pre-construction services such as design work, structural reviews, building envelope reviews, and trade and supply partner reviews. The proposal includes a preliminary high level budget based on requested specifications/features and approximate home size.

Concept Development

Once you agree to the design proposal, our design team starts working on a concept that reflects your specific needs and desires. We prepare a few options to review with you which may include realistic 3D renderings of your project. We adjust the design according to your requests, and once we reach an approved design, our team prepares a high-level estimate to reflect potential build costs for your project.

As the plans are being resolved and additional information is compiled, we develop a detailed specification for the project that is tailored to you. This involves meeting with our team and supply partners to select material and finishes.

Ready for Permit and Construction

Once the design process and specification development are complete, OnGrowing Works finalizes the construction costs associated with building your project. Once approved, we prepare a detailed construction package for our construction crews, submit permits and if required, send to the governing authority for review and approval.
