Project flashback! A client owned a beautiful acreage outside of northwest Calgary that contained a mix of native boreal forest and cultivated land. It was important to the client to hire a company that valued its people and honoured and respected superior craftship.

This was one of OnGrowing Works’ favourite clients and projects of all time. This project truly showcased the incredible trade skills of our craftspeople. Not only did the client trust us with the landscape, but they also entrusted our company with new stone work, a deck and custom deck hand railings. The project grew from a simple pond renovation into a multi-year award winning landscaping endeavour. OnGrowing Works was hired to:

• Develop a master plan and design for each phase of the project.
• Rebuild the existing pond and include a waterfall, creek and a custom-built twig love seat swing.
• Remove a dated deck and railings and replace it with a Kaya Batu board deck with custom-crafted railings and natural sandstone capping.
• Remove dated red brick siding and replace it with timeless full bed natural sandstone.
• Install new wood toned insulated garage doors.
• Create a custom arbour and top it with a sandstone slab to carry rainwater over the arbour roof and to a spruce tree via a rain chain.
• Build rundle stone slab staircases and natural rundle stone pathways.
• Craft a full Rumford outdoor fireplace on a mortared rundle stone patio.
• Expand the backyard deck and finish it with a natural stone outdoor kitchen.
• Install an automatic gate for the front entrance.
• Incorporate prairie-hardy trees, shrubs and perennial flowers.
