The Opportunity:

OnGrowing Works (OGW) is looking for a team-orientated and personable Foreman/Lead Carpenter to join the team in a permanent full-time role. As a member of the OGW team, you will work directly with our Superintendents and Construction Managers to create innovative solutions to support our teams and clients. This role will contribute significantly to the implementation of key projects that will drive business value and improve the performance of the company.

Qualifications:
  • Industry-related certification – Journeyman or equivalent classification
  • 5+ years experience as a Foreman or Lead Journeyman Carpenter
  • Ability to interpret and build according to drawings, specifications, and other documents
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Collaborative, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Adapts well to challenging environmental conditions
  • First Aid and completion of courses in Trade specific safe practices
  • Ability to accept and provide direction, initiate feedback, and perform with accountability
  • Training and production in alternative skills
Responsibilities:
  • Promote and maintain awareness and compliance of Health and Safety in accordance with company and industry standards
  • Utilize expertise to ensure daily/weekly milestones, project objectives and company goals are met
  • Monitor and effect productive daily work procedures, resolve construction problems, and customer concerns with the assistance of the field team
  • Support Superintendent with schedule and trade-related business strategies for productivity and efficiency
  • Supervise and manage any employees or subcontractors on-site daily
  • Ensure accurate installation of all construction materials effectively and efficiently
  • Review, monitor and ensure ordering and delivery of job specific materials and supplies
  • Ensure, operate & provide basic daily maintenance for all equipment, trailers & tools
  • Maintain, evaluate, and improve quality constructions standards
  • Support Superintendent with daily communication and onsite accountability to project objectives
  • Ensure timesheets, receipts, slips and other paperwork are completed in detail and submitted in a timely manner
  • Encourage and provide mentorship for training and apprenticeship

Conditions:
  • OGW logo’d clothing must be worn during working hours
  • CSA approved PPE must be worn on site
  • Monday to Friday (Saturday – flexible) 8 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., Friday 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (1/2 hour unpaid lunch)
  • Valid Driver’s License – Provide own transportation to work site
  • Participate in performance review process
Salary and Benefits:
  • Range – $28.00-38.00/hr
